Piranhaconda 2012 Hindi Dubbed This film is set in the future, where the last remaining swamplands remain in pockets around the world. Scientists have developed a serum that provides human beings with mutations for better hunting skills, but all mutations are subject to an autopsy after each use. One of these hunters ends up getting away with an extra dose of the serum that results in a huge mutation for his creature - into a 37-foot-long piranhaconda. When this deadly predator begins terrorizing the populace, it's up to marine biologists and environmental scientists to figure out how to stop him without getting killed themselves. The film was produced by Anand L. Rai, who co-produced the "PK" (2010) and "Sholay" (1975). It was directed by Girish D. Desai, whose previous work was for the film "Ram Lakhan". The music is composed by Hitesh Sonik, while Manoj Kumar also appears in the film as an antagonist. The story was written by Ravi Udyawar and Janardhan Prasad, who wrote the story of "Sholay" (1975). A novelization of the movie has been written by Alok Bhattacharya. The film was released on 19 September 2012 in 2,800 screens all over India. The movie collected $3,230,000 on opening day, and collected $6 million in its first weekend. The film received very good reviews by critics. Many of the negative reviews were due to the fact that the story was not "original" or it had similarities to other movies that have been produced before about piranhas or similar creatures. The film was also compared to "Sholay" (1975), where Ram Gopal Verma played a dual role as both Ram Prasad Yadav and Gabbar Singh/Karan Pratap Singh. The movie was also compared to "PK" (2010), which was directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film was declared a "hit" by Box Office India. Amitabh Bachchan, who also starred in the "Sholay" (1975), was unhappy with this film as he stated that it did not do well because of the fact that it copied his own work. He said that he never endorsed this kind of antics and rejected what people said about him being angry with the Datta-Pardesi family. Datta Pardesi himself reacted cautiously, saying that all they are doing is making copies of their old work. The film was showcased at the "New York Indian Film Festival" for two days in April 2013. This screening was the first screening of the film in America. The first look of "Piranhaconda 2" was released on July 2, 2017, showing Amitabh Bachchan reprising his character Hirani Kudalkar from "Piranha 3D". The sequel will be directed by Ravi Duggal.
